We don’t have a crystal ball to know where the future is going to go with cryptocurrencies. But we’ve seen enough consumer harm or potential for consumer harm that it’s an area that we want to approach with extreme caution.

Google wasn’t the only major company which went this way, In January, social media giant Facebook adopted a similar policy. The latter didn’t last much. However Facebook renounced to their ban just a few months after. They started to allow pre-approved advertisers to promote cryptocurrency campaigns again.

Now, four months later, Gooogle is also partially lifting up the ban, allowing certain kinds of cryptocurrency ads.

According to the official statement, Google’s updated ad policy. This will allow regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise within Japan and the United States.

The Google Ads policy on Financial products and services will be updated in October 2018. This will allow regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise in the United States and Japan.

However, ads will only be able to target markets in Japan and US. The policy will apply to all accounts globally.
